THE 2 A.M. FEEDING TIME: Surprise, my baby doesn't come with instructions! Comment
O.k., so I had no idea what to expect when I had my first baby. My pregnancy was healthy and easy, so I really didn’t sweat the details of pregnancy. I didn’t read every single book on the planet about when my baby’s toenails were forming. As long as my doctor said everything was fine, I really didn’t have any worries. Maybe that’s not really the norm, but I was busy working and freaking out about what I was going to do when my baby actually got here. I was smart enough to know that I wasn’t going to be able to prepare for everything. I was going to have to figure it out as I went along…for a control freak like me, that wasn’t going to be easy! What do you think the first surprise was?
Supermodel Giselle Bundchen Not Worried About Baby Weight Comment
Her first child arrived in December, but the supermodel is just enjoying life with her new "angel" and not sweating the small stuff...like getting back into shape. She says that little by little, she'll get her form back. Good advice new moms!

My first surprise with my daughter was actually how easily everything about motherhood came to me. It's like my instincts took over and I was on mama-autopilot. Of course everything wasn't easy, and I had a few breakdowns in my first year (three that I can recall), but making the transition from an individual person to a mother (believe me when I say a mother is no longer an "individual") was so smooth I didn't even notice it. It was a wonderful surprise!

Definitely the hardest transition is from zero to one! Everything changed for me...my time, my priorities, my wardrobe, you name it, my life turned upside down. I couldn't imagine that it was going to be that way. But, then that became the new normal...someone else was always FIRST. Always. So, having #2 and #3 wasn't really as big of a deal. From 2-3 we just shifted from man-to-man to a zone defense! (-: Motherhood is the hardest, most wonderful job there is!

Happy new baby, Kourtney. I have to ask, though, any chance we'll be hearing wedding bells?

@LAmama: He can try a couple things...have him feed her when she is really hungry, like first thing in the morning...have him wear your t-shirt, or something that smells like you...have him heat up the bottle a bit (on stove, do NOT put breast milk in micro)...and have him put a little breast milk on the nipple of the bottle before he gives it to her. Be patient. She'll take it when she's hungry enough. Good luck!

How do "train" a baby to sleep through the night?

Wait until she is sleeping and then JUMP IN...you might have to get used to curly hair for awhile, but pretty soon, you'll be able to dry it too! (-: Remember, babies love the sound of the shower and the hair dryer...so, keep her close and she might surprise you! xxx
