I think the key to the whole immigration issue is that the “illegals” are not doing it the way our ancestors have done it. They are benefiting off of our programs, yet not paying into them which creates a deficit in the very programs that were put into place to help the people who are Americans and who have done it the right way. The issue isn’t about immigrants who have migrated to our country the correct and legal way. It is about the millions who have done it illegally. We are a country that is welcoming and tolerant of others customs, religious beliefs, etc…… and with all of the political correctness going on, our country is becoming weak and is being bullied by the very people we have let into this country legally, and those who have entered it illegally. Our ancestors had to assimilate into this country, but now it just seems that we, as Americans HAVE to assimilate to their customs and their beliefs in order NOT to offend them. Americans are losing more and more rights and illegal immigrants are gaining more in this country. And as a Patriotic American and a mother of two sons, I find this truly disturbing. It should be basic human rights for all, not for some. Immigration laws are in place for a reason and if we start to ignore them, then our country will fall into economic collapse due to the number of people using the system vs those that pay into the system. Basic economics. :)
