"We Are All Pilgrims & Indians": Opinionated MAMA's Perspective On IMMIGRATION

We are a nation of pilgrims.  Unless you are a Native American Indian, you have the blood of immigrants.  So, although you feel like a native, your family came here from somewhere else. Our individual immigration stories give credence to the fact that we are the scrappiest, hardest-working collection of people on the planet.  Our relatives fled famine, persecution, incarceration or were brought here in chains.  Some how they made it.  Some way they built a life.  It wasn’t easy to do, but they did it.  And, they inspired...

WHAT A MESS: Whitman Accused Of Knowingly Hiring Illegal Housekeeper

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, has been accused by her ex-housekeeper and nanny, Nicky Diaz, of knowingly hiring her and employing her for 9 years, even though she was an undocumented worker. Gloria Allred is representing Diaz in the case that alleges that Whitman did not pay her for all of the hours she worked and knew she was in the US illegally.  Whitman says that when she found out Diaz was illegal last year, she fired her.

It is a violation of Federal law to knowingly hire an undocumented worker.  Whitman says she saw Diaz’ driver’s license, and that she had a social security number and can prove, through tax records, that she did not know Diaz was illegal.  Diaz's attorney claims to have proof she knew otherwise.

MOMism: “Pick up after yourself.”  We teach our kids to keep it clean, take care of their stuff and to put things where they belong.  If they don't pick up after themselves, they will make a big mess.

Unfortunately, Meg did not keep her own house clean. Literally and figuratively?!@#! She has gone on record saying that employers who hire undocumented workers need to take responsibility for the illegal immigration problems.  So, she can't hide this problem under the rug.  Dirty poliitics? Maybe.  But, it shows that our immigration system needs to be cleaned up...and Meg Whitman cannot be part of the solution, until she takes responsibility for being part of the problem.

I actually think this story if funny as all get out. 1) crooked politician hires illegal and then doesn't pay her. 2) crooked illegal, who shouldn't be here in the first place, thinks she has any right to the money illegally manipulated from the country, regardless of the direct source. Deport the illegal and jail or fine the employer and agency that sent the criminal to her home in the first place, then bill the illegal for every single penny she got via her fraud, and confiscate anything she obtained using these funds.
