"If It Bleeds, It Leads": Opinionated MAMA's Perspective On The MEDIA

We’re calling out the media.  We have to, because we’re disappointed in them after the coverage of the healthcare summit.   What we saw on C-SPAN (yes! we watched all 7 hours!) and what we saw as the network and radio analyses of what we saw on C-SPAN made us feel like we were going a little nutso.

First of all, the media spin up to the meeting had us expecting the Republicans to act like a bunch of pompous, uniformed, buffoons and show America that they are the party of “no.”   I expected the Democrats, on the other...

WANNA BE ON TV MAMAS? O-MAMA Is Teaming Up With Lifetime's The Balancing Act

Do YOU want to be on TV???  Washington can learn a lot from America’s moms, don’t you think?  We are so excited to offer you this opportunity, so if you have some advice for our nation’s leaders, here’s your chance to get your opinions out there on TV - it's super easy for you to be constructive, smart and/or sassy - and get some FREE O-MAMA stuff, too!

Lifetime Television’s “The Balancing Act” is teaming up with Opinionated MAMA and will air what O-MAMAs from around the country think about all the “Playground Politics” going on.  If we're talking about "kitchen table issue" who better to hear from than moms?  This is all about you and your mom message to our politicians – we need your parental wisdom to help correct the bad behavior we see from Washington and Wall Street.  Congress has an all time low 9% approval rating, so they need to hear from the "voice of reason" and Wall Street, well, they need a little tough love - that's where YOU come in MAMAS.

Yep, all we need is for you to answer a couple of simple questions on camera and email them to us.  Use a flip cam, or even your phone to record them and woosh them to Debbie@O-MAMA.com.  If you mug for the camera, and we chose your sound bite for the show, we’ll send you a super cute mug and some other fun Opinionated MAMA and The Balancing Act swag, too.

So, here’s what you need to do…

EMAIL US:

• your name and address

• how many KID-O’s you have

• video yourself saying the intro below and your answers to one or all of the following questions

VIDEO INTRO:

Hi. My name is (say first name only), I live in (say city/state), I have (# of kid-os) and I am an Opinionated MAMA.

QUESTIONS:

Q:  “What parental advice do you give your kids about how to behave on the playground?” (This will be used as advice for congress!)

For example, your answer might be something like, “When I take my kids to the playground, the rule is to play nice with the other kids.”

Q: “What do you think Washington could learn from moms?” (This should be something you do every day that our lawmakers should do, too.)

For example your answer might be something like, “I think moms could teach Washington something about balancing their checkbook.

Q: "What do you think Wall Street (bankers and/or protestors) could learn from moms?" (This is some lesson you impart to your own children, that you think should apply.)

For example your answer might be something like, "I think moms could teach Wall Street a thing or two about being accountable for their mistakes." Or, "Don't pee in public."

Please share any lesson you think the lawmakers need to hear from YOU, so they start behaving better!  Simple and fun…good luck MAMAs!

Email your video message and/or questions to: Debbie@O-MAMA.com by Monday, 11/7. Thanks MAMAS!!!

Change begins at home...and it starts with YOU.
