Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed to all that he had an affair 10 years ago with a member of their household staff.  What’s more, the affair produced a secret love child...according to the rumor mill, his second?! This particular staffer has been identified as their former housekeeper, Mildred Patricia Baena.  Apparently, Baena recently was threatening to go public with news of the affair-there is speculation as to which came first, her being fired or the threat of her coming out with the secret.  Either way, Arnold admitted the affair to his wife, Maria Shriver, which led to the couple announcing their separation.  Shriver issued the statement, ”this is a painful and heartbreaking time…as a mother, my concern if for the children.  I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal.” 

Arnold-ism: “The best activities for your health are pumping and humping.” Hmmm.  Okay. He forgot to qualify this remark.  We thought he meant pumping IRON and humping HIS WIFE.  Guess not?! Our bad.

Besides being heart-broken for his lovely wife - who is a class act - and his kids (all of them), we think the message is bigger.  Arnold has said many things over the years publically that may need to be reconsidered, as there are so many caveats that he likely left out.  Maybe he really did mean pumping and humping at all costs, no matter who or where? After all, he’s used to being the center of universe…he went from being Mr. Olympia to Mr. Hollywood to The Governator to The Sperminator…gross.  He has fallen from grace, but now what?  A 63 year old man who is used to being an egomaniacal force and getting rewarded for it, lavished with money and fame, now has to play work up with the people who love him for all the right reasons.  He has lots of work to do. 

Arnie – a tip:  be humble.  It isn’t all about you.  It’s not even a little bit about you or how sad you are that you screwed up and had to fess up.  It’s not about being embarrassed.  So, don't be a "girlie man" - be a real man and step up for all the kids involved.  It’s about your family and figuring out how to put it all back together FOR YOUR KIDS. Their health and well-being are the most important thing.  This is a heavy lift - disgust, disappointment and loss - so start flexing those muscles.  You need to pump up your family with love and take the weight off them.

P.s., It would also be a good idea to put the humping on hold.

So MAMAs, how do you help your kids through such heart-break and disappointment when you are heart-broken and disappointed?  MAMAS, there are signs at early ages when kids feel a sense of entitlement to do as they want, despite how it affects others, so how do we sweat that one out and raise responsible, secure people instead of self-serving, self-centered people?  Where is the balance between confidence and arrogance?
