- THE LAST WORD: Tiger and Elin Divorce Final
-
Photo AP Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren are divorced. People magazine reports that the couple reached an amicable agreement, but the details of the settlement remain undisclosed. Sources told the magazine that Nordegren could receive anywhere from $100 million to $500 million. The couple issued a statement saying that, “Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at and end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure (the children’s) well being.”
MOMism: “You’ve got to move on.” Divorce happens. It’s a fact of life for over 50% of couples these days. But, couples who have children and decide to get divorced need to make sure their children's interests are put ahead of their own...what is best for their kids…and that it is done amicably. Our kids are the innocents in the equation, and their needs have supersede any “issues” that we adults might have with each other.
Tiger and Elin have kept the details of their divorce discrete and they've done it quickly. Good for them for not dragging it out in an ugly public way....for the sake of their kids...and everyone involved. Done.
