FEATHERING OUR NESTS: O-MAMA’s Perspective on SPRING CLEANING

Spring is in the air.  The birds and the bees are flitting around doing their thing…nature abounds.  The birds are feathering their nests and laying their eggs, while the bees are busy pollinating every flower in the garden.  The air is crisp and clean.  Chirping and buzzing fills the air.

Everything seems fresh and new.  So, let’s take a new look at Spring, shall we? The first thing that comes to mind is cleaning. Ugggh.  But, let's talk about the birds and the bees instead...the part of the story that happens...

THE #1 JOB REPORT: "Let er rip!"

It was a ordinary day.  I took my kids out to lunch with a cousin in town from the West Coast and figured, hey, "let’s go to the bookstore."  Nothing too exciting, but something to do to before we go home for naptime.

Going to a bookstore is a wonderful activity to do with kids, right?  We could have gone home and let the kids tear up the house after I just put it back together, or rot in front of the tv, but a bookstore sounded like a much better option for all parties.

So we went to do something educational.   My kids had the best time. It was as if they had never seen a book before. I SWEAR, we have tons of books all over the house, but my kids were looking at these books like they were french fries and they hadn't eaten for days.

J and C (my kids) were off from school and must have had some cabin fever as they were super excited to be out of the house.  Didn’t we come home from a 10 day trip to Florida? But I guess they really needed to get out again.  They were so happy. My son screaming with joy when he saw 'Thomas the Train' or our personal fave ‘Llama, Llama Red Pajama’ yet again. You get the point.  So after some excitement we were approached by the manager of the bookstore. It appears some of the older customers were getting "scared" by all the screaming and carrying on by our little group. Seriously? Us? Scary?

Loud, yes. Annoying, maybe. But scary? C'mon dude, gimme a break!   Sorry…kids were super happy, we weren’t in a library. We were in a bookstore, confined to the kids section, but we will try to HUSH! Next time I will make sure to bring plenty of duct tape.

Let's not forget we were all kids once. Shrieking with joy is a beautful sound. And I say, "let er rip!"
