Spring is in the air.  The birds and the bees are flitting around doing their thing…nature abounds.  The birds are feathering their nests and laying their eggs, while the bees are busy pollinating every flower in the garden.  The air is crisp and clean.  Chirping and buzzing fills the air.

Everything seems fresh and new.  So, let’s take a new look at Spring, shall we? The first thing that comes to mind is cleaning. Ugggh.  But, let's talk about the birds and the bees instead...the part of the story that happens...

TANGLED WEB: Van Der Sloot Guilty

Update January 12, 2012: Joran van der Sloot pleaded guilty in a Peruvian court to the 2010 murder of 21-year-old Peruvian student Stephany Flores.  Van der Sloot is also the main suspect in the disappearance of the American, Natalee Holloway, in 2005.  He told the court, "I am truly sorry for this act. I feel very bad."  His attorney claims that the psychological trauma he'd suffered due to the Holloway investigation pushed him to murder Flores. His sentence will will be announced tomorrow.

Joran van der Sloot is now claiming that he was "tricked" into confessing to the murder of Peruvian student, Stephany Flores Ramirez. In Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, an article published Monday in which van der Sloot reports that Peruvian police told him that if he signed the papers they gave him, he would be transferred to the Netherlands, and that in a blind panic he signed everything, but never knew what was written on them.

Also being reported is that even though he is the prime suspect in the murders of two young women, van der Sloot is boasting about receiving marriage proposals from a number of women that he doesn’t know while in prison. Van Der Sloot is scheduled to appear in a Peruvian court for a hearing into the death of Flores, 21.

MOMism: “Oh what a tangled web we weave."  O-MAMAs can take a lesson from famed poet and novelist Sir Walter Scott.  When we spin a web of deception, it is easy to get tangled up in all the lies.  Although he's been caught, Joran van der Sloot has spun a web so compelling that he is still luring young girls from behind bars.  What is the attraction?  How do our girls avoid getting trapped by boys who lie and deceive?  What is it about him that draws young women to him?
