I never imagined I’d be 35 and single, let alone 35 and single with a 4 year old! Needless to say, my son was a surprise. But, he is without question, the greatest surprise of my life. I was scared about doing it all alone. My pregnancy was not easy and there was no one to talk about it with when I got home at the end of the day, never mind someone to run out and get me Rocky Road ice cream and rub my swollen feet. My son was tiny when he was born – 5 lbs. 6 oz., but my love was HUGE. I was madly in love with this little man…complete, powerful, unconditional love. I knew instantly that my life had changed. In that moment, I was forever part of a couple. Not exactly the love story I had always imagined, but a love story nevertheless. We have our ups and downs…which I’ll share with you on Mondays!
