- PAYING THE PIPER: BP Gets The Bill -UPDATE

According to Reuters, BP is to set aside $20 billion to pay for spill related claims. This one-day after the President's Oval Office speech where he outlined steps for cleaning up and paying for the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. He called the company "reckless" and assured the nation that the BP will be held accountable for it's behavior. The President is calling for a clean up and relief fund to be created by the oil giant and to be administered by a third party. He also said the tragedy, "is the most painful and powerful reminder yet that the time to embrace a clean-energy future is now." Experts predict that the leak will be stopped entirely by late summer.
MOMism:"You will be held accountable." We tell our kids that they will pay for their mistakes one way or another. They need to know that their actions have repercussions...sometimes very costly ones!
