I have a very simple solution to the budget/deficit problems: All corporations must be REQUIRED to pay their fair share of TAXES!! Right now huge corporations have all kinds of loop-holes and tax credits that allow them to get away with paying NO TAXES-- EVER!! As I recall, this past year, the Supreme Court determined that Corporations are the same as PEOPLE!! As such they are allowed to contribute bottomless pits of money to political campaigns, but for some reason, these same 'people' are not required to pay the same taxes that all of the rest of the PEOPLE are required to pay! If REAL PEOPLE are required to pay taxes, and corporations are now defined as REAL PEOPLE...why don't they need to pay their taxes, too??? What's good for the goose, should be good for the gander, right!??!??! Next: Want to fix Social Security once and for all??? Here's the solution - it's a 2 pronged attack!! 1. Remove the earnings cap! Right now, anyone who earns more than $108K a year, does not pay any money into SS above that salary level! High Paid Athletes, Movie Stars,CEOs of major (and even minor) corporations --- do not pay any SS tax above the $108K salary. Eliminate that salary cap and we have a HUGE windfall into SS!! 2. Congress (House of Representatives and Senators) should all be required to base their retirement on SS....not the FULL SALARY they (and their SPOUSES!!!!) receive now!!! These changes would make a HUGE difference in our current and future revenues in this country...not to mention fairer prices at the pump, at the grocery and clothing store and everywhere we shop...since we will no longer be lining the pockets of the big CORPORATIONS and CONGRESS!!!on 04/12/11Reply
