- MR. CONTRITE: What Kid-Os Can Learn From Charlie Sheen's Comments At The Emmy's
-
Did you see Charlie Sheen last night on the Emmy's? It was a little awkward as he blew kisses and walked out on stage. You know how your kids look when you make them apologize...or say something nice when they don't really want to? They either don't understand what they did wrong or they think you are SO MEAN and are ruining all their fun with silly manners-shmanners?! Well, that's kind of how Charlie seemed on stage. He said all the right things, but his facial expressions and demeanor said "*&^%$!, I hate that I have to do this?!" The audience didn't quite know how to react. A few stood and applauded, while most remained silent and just starred at him as he wished Two And A Half Men "nothing but the best" this season and announced the winner of his category last year - best male actor in a comedy series. Awkward.
MOMISM: "Know the difference between right and wrong." Our kids might not always do the right thing, but we hope they figure out the difference between right and wrong. For awhile, it looked like Charlie Sheen was spinning out of control. The good news is that he seems like he has pulled himself together and realizes he was way out of line (at least from a professional stand point) and wants to make it right. Our kids are going to do stupid things, but we need to encourage them to make things right, when they can. It was very brave of Charlie to go through the motions last night, whether he fully believed what he was saying or not, he put himself out there. Good boy Charlie.
