- MOVE IT OR LOSE IT: Annual Running Of The Bulls
-
travelhouseuk.wordpress.com The running of the bulls at the festival of San Fermin in Pamplona, Spain, signals the start of the summer party season. Thousands of citizens race through the streets dressed in traditional white with red hankerchiefs to "escort" the bulls across town to the bull ring. So far this year, 3 of the revelers have been injured, but no one gored...yet. The bulls that run down the streets are used for the bullfights in the ring the same day, where they are killed. Their meat is then served in restaurants in Pamplona. The tradition of bull running dates back to the 13th century, and also takes place in Portugal, southern France and some Mexican cities. The event became famous following the publication of Ernest Hemingway's book "The Sun Also Rises," in 1926.
MOMism: “Move it or lose it.” Sometimes life calls for quick action. We teach our kids to move quickly to avoid every day perils...dodging balls on the playground or looking both ways while crossing the street. Moms might not encourage our kids to run with the bulls in Pamplona…seems a little risky, but maybe a little fun, too, if you're quick!

Granted, I think this bull running is barabaric and idiotic, but it is another country. IF and when they start it in the United States, I would be the first one to challenge and fight it.on 10/02/10Reply
