Spring is in the air.  The birds and the bees are flitting around doing their thing…nature abounds.  The birds are feathering their nests and laying their eggs, while the bees are busy pollinating every flower in the garden.  The air is crisp and clean.  Chirping and buzzing fills the air.

Everything seems fresh and new.  So, let’s take a new look at Spring, shall we? The first thing that comes to mind is cleaning. Ugggh.  But, let's talk about the birds and the bees instead...the part of the story that happens...

LUCK TO THE IRISH: St. Patrick's Day

It's St. Patrick's Day and President Obama met with new Irish Prime Minister, Enda Kenny, at the White House.  The two discussed the United States' assistance in Ireland's economic recovery, after the country reported its highest jobless rate in 17 years.  Kenny said, "Ireland's open for business and will continue to be open for business to the United States."  So, we wish our Irish pals lots of luck making some GREEN!

The U.S. goes shamrock on St. Patty's, because we have so many transplants and descendants from the Emerald Isle. In fact, Obama's great, great, great grandfather was brought up in Moneygall, Ireland. Almost a quarter of our presidents have had some connection to Ireland.  So, we're all Irish for a day, right O'MAMAs?

It's our tradition to celebrate all things Irish with parades, music, dancing and lots of Guinness.  Dye the milk green, make some corn beef in cabbage...Erin Go Brah (Gaelic for "Ireland forever") or "erin go bra-less."  Do your own Irish jig today, MAMAs.  Wishing you and yours the luck o' the Irish today and every day!

Here's an Irish blessing for all O'MAMAs and their families:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Raise your hand if your kid went off to school in a "pinch-free" outfit! Any ideas for making a school uniform "green" if it's not? Beads, buttons, green dots on the hand? Spill MAMAs! Also, my daughter slept with me last night for fear of the midnight leprachaun invasion...hilarious! Happy St. Pats. MAMAs!
