- LOHAN IN LOCKDOWN: Lindsay Released UPDATED Aug 2
-
Photo AP File Lindsay Lohan was released after serving 14 of her 90-day jail sentence following a judge’s ruling earlier this month that she had violated her DUI probation. She was being held in Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA. Upon her release from prison, Lohan has been sentenced to an additional three months in a rehabilitation center, rumored to be UCLA medical center, where she was transported upon her release. As part of her probation, she will be randomly tested for drugs and alcohol until August 2011.
MOMism: “You’re grounded!” Here’s a phrase all O-MAMAs are familiar with. Sometimes, when our kids step over the line, especially after being warned once, twice, three times….there is only one choice. Clip their wings, put the hammer down, stand by your consequences- or lose all credibility. Looks like the court is acting like Lindsay’s MAMA. And this time around, it appears that MAMA's word is law.

It seems like only yesterday (it's been 16 years!)that my then-seventeen-year-old son was arrested for the first time. From that point on, I was criticized for not trying to bail him out whenever he got into trouble, even when he was in his twenties. It was my belief that he should face the consequences of his actions, not I. I still believve that today, even though our relationship has suffered, as a result. It's not always easy to do the right thing. Lessons learned the hard way usually are remembered and are a better deterrent to repeating the undesired behavior than leniency.on 08/08/10Reply

Don't know about you but if she was my kid I wouldn't want the system to go easy on her. She obviously has a serious problem that rehab hasn't fixed yet. Maybe she needs to stay in jail her full sentance, then continue on to rehab with the testing happening during and after. If this was anyone else they wouldn't get such a slap on the wrist. They're doing the same thing for lindsey that they did for paris. Pretty and rich girls need just the same discapline as anyone else. Just sayin.on 08/06/10Reply
- Sometimes pretty rich girls need MORE discipline than your average Jane since everything comes so easy...on 08/06/10Reply

There was a recent murder in my city. A young (black) man (23)shot at 3AM in front of his house. His two young daughters(1 & 3) were inside being watched by HIS mother. So I spent some time on a board by the tv station and was AMAZED at the venom towards urban culture at large. Granted this young man was hardly a paragon of virtue, BUT STILL two babies lost their father and a mother lost her son...okay I was going to tie this to Lindsay Lohan somehow, but now I lost my train of t hought...sorry.on 07/22/10Reply
- Were you going with young and stupid need chances too? Lol. But that is devistating.on 08/06/10Reply

Although I believe the court's decision was a sound one, I don't think celebrity is a good thing for Lindsay! Some people can handle pressure and some can't and one can only imagine the kind of pressure being young, having money and fame, while living under the microscope of the media can do to someone. Add to that family problems and clearly low self-esteem, and you have a disaster waiting to happen. Hopefully this will finally open Lindsay's eyes and she will be like a phoenix rising from the ashes. One can hope!on 07/21/10Reply
