Officials in Southern Afghanistan report that the Taliban killed a seven-year old boy suspected of spying.  President Hamid Karzai said that officials are investigating the incident.  He added,  “ A  7-year-old boy cannot be a spy.  A 7-year –old boy cannot be anything but a 7-year-old boy, and therefore hanging or shooting to kill a 7-year –old boy…is a crime against humanity.”

MOMism: “We’re older and wiser.”  We tell our kids that with age, comes wisdom.  They need to trust that the adults will BE the adults and will act with maturity.  Children in the United States are treated as such, and their childhood is respected.  We need to remind ourselves how lucky we are to live in a country where the adults are lauded when they act  “older and wiser.”
