Spring is in the air.  The birds and the bees are flitting around doing their thing…nature abounds.  The birds are feathering their nests and laying their eggs, while the bees are busy pollinating every flower in the garden.  The air is crisp and clean.  Chirping and buzzing fills the air.

HEY 'HOTSHOT': CONDOMS FOR BOYS

Switzerland is manufacturing extra small condoms to be used by adolescent boys, reports the Daily Telegraph. Swiss family planning agencies found that young boys are engaging in risky sexual behavior and, therefore, are at risk for disease.

MOMism:  "The birds and the bees DO IT."  But, I'm pretty sure they wait until their married...or at least dating seriously for a few years, right?! WRONG.  But, 12?!  Frightening.  Ladies, the "talk" needs to happen earlier. We teach our kids the wonders of purity and abstinence and make sure they are never alone in a room with the opposite sex.  ABSOLUTELY.  But, when the time comes to let them go out unsupervised, we can hope and pray that our words of wisdom are ringing in their heads when the boy they like starts kissing their ear...OR we can acknowledge that no matter how good our kids are, there is a physiological change that happens during adolescence that is powerful - raging hormones.  Have the talk.  Tell them all the reasons they should be virgins until 35, but also prepare them...tell them they are too young, that first love is fleeting...but, prepare them...teach them to respect themselves and their bodies...but, prepare them...because when nature takes over, they will DO IT.  Have the talk.

Have "the talk" is the most important thing... I always had a great relationship with my parents, and my mom has been my best friend since I was teenager. "The talks" we had helped me a lot to take my decisions when "the time" came... For sure, it is not going to be easy to talk with my future little girl or my future little boy about it, but it is necessary. So let's prepare ourselves for the BIG talk!!
