"We Are All Pilgrims & Indians": Opinionated MAMA's Perspective On IMMIGRATION

We are a nation of pilgrims.  Unless you are a Native American Indian, you have the blood of immigrants.  So, although you feel like a native, your family came here from somewhere else. Our individual immigration stories give credence to the fact that we are the scrappiest, hardest-working collection of people on the planet.  Our relatives fled famine, persecution, incarceration or were brought here in chains.  Some how they made it.  Some way they built a life.  It wasn’t easy to do, but they did it.  And, they inspired...

COJONES: Palin Calls Out Obama On Immigration

In Sunday talk, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News, and claimed, “Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has the 'cojones' that President Obama does not have to take on illegal immigration.” This comment follows the Wednesday injunction granted by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton to block the most controversial provisions of Arizona’s recently passed immigration law.

MOMism: Too many balls in the air.” If anyone knows how to multi-task, it’s an O-MAMA. Let’s face it, that is what we do; make lunches, while answering an email and putting on some make-up. And even though President Obama is not a MAMA, he certainly has a lot of balls in the air. He has so much on his plate between domestic and international issues that comprehensive Immigration reform has taken a back seat to the more pressing issues of war and economic recession. Time will tell if he decides to come out swinging and knock down his critics, or if this issue will knock him out because it is so big and complicated.  Did Palin's comments hit below the belt?  Or, was it just the kick needed to get the administration ready to fight this battle?

The illegal immigration issue is not limited to Hispanics. More Chinese illegals are in the United States or close to it than Hispanics. There are many Polish, Irish, Filipinos and even Canadians. This is a complex issue and has to be addressed because it is impacting on our schools, police and hospitals. Sorry, but that is the way it is.

Yeah, what have the Republicans EVER done to help fix the problem of illegal immigration? NOTHING. Because they have been psyched out of their minds to have cheap labor...now, this gal is talking about Obama's conjones? Immigration reform will happen, but it needs to be done sensibly and comprehensively by the people that actually have the balls to DO SOMETHING. Calling all serious Democrats and Republicans...please find a pair and fix this problem. Go after employers, secure the borders, create a national i.d. program and expedient path to citizenship, but please start tracking people that enter our country with Visas..."guests" that overstay their welcome shouldn't be able to wonder around snooping through our drawers, if you know what I mean...I fear terrorists getting in legally and then disappearing?!
