MOMism:  "If you're bored, I'll give you something to DO."  Your kids should never be "bored."  They are kids for pete's sake.  They need to horse around outside, day dream, explore...there is always something cool to do. And, if they ever tell you they're bored, do not turn on the TV...find something for them to do, like shovel snow or pick up dog poop. And, when that's done, have them volunteer to help someone else.  They will be humbled and appreciative all at the same time...and they won't ever complain about being bored again!
