APPLE OF MY i : Innovator and visionary Steve Jobs died at 56

Father of four, husband, Apple inventor and all around technological genius, Steve Jobs, lost his battle with cancer. We are mourning the loss of a brilliant mind and a creative icon, but it's also a very personal loss for a lot of us. Steve Jobs gave us incredible tools to communicate and gather information we couldn't even imagine.  He brought us the first personal computer, the Macintosh.  He brought us Toy Story and Finding Nemo with his animation studio, Pixar.  (MAMAS, how many times have you watched those movies?)  He brought us the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad (MAMAS, how many times have they gotten your kids through a plane flight, a dinner out, a car ride?).  All the gadgets we use every day. He came into our lives and linked us to each other and the world.  Think about what this man did for technology and organizing our lives.  It's hard to wrap our heads around it.  He was truly a visionary...and a revolutionary. He gave every person access to mind blowing techie toys and tools to transform education, business and the way we communicate.  What he created was "insanely great" and he absolutely changed the way the world thinks and processes information.  What a gift.  Thank you Mr. Jobs for your brain cells and all you gave the world.  You sparked a communication revolution.

In lieu of a MOMism, we hope you read through some of Steve Job's own inspirational quotes and watch his commencement address to Stanford University in 2005...pass on the lessons to your KID-Os.  There are lots of good ones about finding your passion, exploring random things that interest you and figuring out how to connect the dots later (a calligraphy class inspired him to develop all the fonts for the Mac), living your own life, learning from your failures...delicious morsels of insight and challenges.

STEVE JOBS was one of the very, very few individuals in world history who has touched and inspired every living soul on earth. A true gift to mankind. He will be missed.

Could not have said it better myself. He touched me. And, he touched my whole family. Because of him we can ichat and do facetime and organize our entire lives on one tiny device that goes everywhere. I think he knew how profoundly he changed our lives. I think he knew and hopefully that gave him peace. Such a loss of "brain cells" is right -all of us benefited from his brain. What a beautiful gift.
