I let my husband off the hook for Valentine's Day before we ever got married (29 yrs ago!). It's more important to me how he treats me on a daily basis, and over time, he has proven his love to me by what he does and says... and how he says it. Those are much more important than candy, card, or flowers (and after 29 years, hot sex? I don't think so).

Okay…so the traditional Thanksgiving article would talk tips for the best turkey possible, tips for setting the table, tips for scratch gravy, and a reminder about being thankful for our families, friends and blessings. Plus, some cute thing about pilgrims and Indians (which you can find in our IMMIGRATION opinion this week, by the way).
But, we’re going to “start a new tradition” this...

Photo Google Images This is our day to give back to those who have fought, and in some cases, have died for our freedom. Each year on November 11th, which is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice ending WWI, Americans are given a holiday just to honor our soldiers who have served our country. It is our duty as American MAMAs to let our kids know that this is not just a “day off” of school, and explain...
