The President’s fiscal commission’s report is aimed at lowering our nation’s debt by $4 trillion by the end of the decade.  But it’s gonna hurt! The report recommends cuts in military spending, a higher retirement age, higher Medicaid premiums, less money for wealthier Social Security recipients, cutting domestic spending and other reforms that could cost tax payers about $1,700?!  Ouch!  But,...

President Obama is back from his trip to four Asian nations: India, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan. The President’s message was that the U.S. needs to step up our game, in order to be economically competitive, and the U.S. is looking to level the playing field.  The bases he wanted to round included negotiating trade deals with India (as a counterweight to China’s domination in the...

It’s not funny.  Our nation is overdrawn…big time!  How do we balance the big federal checkbook? Well, a bipartisan budget commission has been crunching numbers and the co-chairs have come up with a plan. MAMAs know that sometimes “reality bites,” but we have to have some give and take to get our fiscal house in order.  We need to deal with this problem…together...realistically.  Too bad we...
