- Everyday Thoughts on Atheist MAMAS

- Wow! My last post made zero sense! Being on strong meds sure made me loopy! What I meant is that I haven't read that book yet, but I intend to now! Who authored it? And thanks for bringing it up! :-)on 06/13/10Reply

I'm in here with you! It's a new room for O-MAMA and I think it'll be a good one! I, too, question everything about religion from time to time...hard not to with wars being the nastiest when fought over religion. I'm all about things that bring people together rather than divide them. So, I'm not sure that atheism really brings folks together...maybe athiests are together in their non-conformity? Have an opinion O-MAMAs?on 06/10/10Reply

Well, I simply HAD to type something in this room! I hated it seeming so lonely and forlorn! LOL! I'm not an athiest, per se. I'm Buddhist, but Buddhism is often called the religion of no religion, since there is no deity, nor dogman or doctrine. It has even been described as a philosophy. I view it as my spiritual path. But having said all that, I feel closer in viewpoint to Athiests than I do other religions. The main reason is that believers of religiosity tend to take my questions and disagreements personally and misinterpret them as attacks, when they are not. I am simply questioning. I think its important to question everything! That is how one learns! I also feel that believers want to alter my view - convert me - save my soul. I am very content with my spiritual path. I do not wish to be converted. Okay, so now this page has something written on it! I hope to see much more! Atheists, I know you're out there!! Come on! Let's hear from you!!on 06/09/10Reply
- I have always felt put down if I speak my OWN opinion about religion. Living in the "bible belt: of the south, it is looked down upon very badly to not believe or even question the practices of religion. I know now, what I believe, what you believe DOES NOT MATTER!! Repeat: Does NOT matter! We are all people wanting the same in life:Happiness & Health!on 11/10/10Reply
- living in the south the 2nd or 3rd ? when you meet someone new is what church do you go to ... its so much harder when you have kids because you don't want your beliefs to hinder or isolate them... i have sent both my daughters to a faith based pre-school and both have attended summer bible schools with friends and family members... they know that its alright with me to believe whatever the choose to believe...and they seem to be willing to accept that of my husband and myselfon 01/27/11Reply
- I think people just desperately want to connect with each other...the church seems to be a great way to do it, but it is not the ONLY way. Doing family activities will also connect you to other young families.on 01/28/11Reply
