Happy almost Independence Day MAMAs!
In between the daily chores, hot dogs and fireworks, let’s teach our KID-Os that the Statue of Liberty was a present from France to commemorate the centennial signing of the United States Declaration of Independence – adopted by Congress on July 4, 1776 – which is inscribed on Lady Liberty’s tablet. The statue “la Liberté éclairant le monde” (translation: Liberty Enlightening the World) is a gesture of friendship and inspiration to the entire world that the United States of America stands for equality. In the words of our Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self–evident,
That all men are created equal,
That they are endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable Rights,
That among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men,
Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
We hope you celebrate our country’s birthday with friends and family who inspire you every day! Happy almost 4th of July MAMAS! What are your 4th of July traditions?
