MAMAs say…”use your words.” From the very beginning, we encourage our children to talk to us, explain their thoughts and communicate. We don’t let them shout. We don’t let them talk at us – and only tell us what they want. We look them in the eye and teach them how to have a conversation. To take turns talking and sharing their ideas…to listen and give their friends, siblings and parents the respect of absorbing their ideas, too.
Now, it’s time for our politicians to learn those basic behaviors, too. They need to start having constructive conversations about the budget, immigration, healthcare, etc. They need to stop talking at each other (and the TV cameras) and start talking with each other. Why? Because their MAMAs said so!
