We all remember where we were eleven years ago on 9/11. It was one of those moments that will forever be seered into our hearts and minds. One of those moments that will always connect our American family in grief. Today, we remember all of those loved and lost, those that ran into burning buildings and those serving our country on their behalf today and yesterday…national heroes and every day heroes…we will never forget what happened on 9/11…we must never forget the tragic events or the heroic acts of kindness and compassion.
MAMAs, how do you explain 9/11 to your kids? What questions are they asking and what words of wisdom are you providing?
MOMISM: “When you get knocked down, get back up.” America quite literally got knocked down on 9/11. But, ours is a fighting spirit. We can never let anything keep us down – terrorist attacks, economic recessions, etc. We are a great nation and we prove it time and time again with our resilience and our commitment to each other. There are moments that bring us together and times that tear us apart. Let this be a moment of unity and strength for us all.
We are the scrappiest of all the scrappy people on the planet…that is the foundation of our country. We are built on solid principals. We must never forget what happened on that horrible day, but we must move forward. So, we have literally cleared away the rubble and begun this reconstruction to symbolize our enduring spirit. Giant skyward reaching monuments that show the world that we have risen from the ashes…that we got knocked down, but America is back up, steady on her feet and stronger than ever!
We will never forget…let’s always remember who we are – united in grief, but always united.
