We interviewed Linsey Goldman – our Special MAMA that writes our SPECIAL DELIVERY blog every month. Linsey is a former special needs teacher and a stay-at-home mom to her five-year-old twins who couldn’t be more different! Her daughter is Miss Independent and her son is Mr. Tentative. He was diagnosed with Generalized Epilepsy 2 years ago and receives speech and physical therapy. Raising a child with special needs can be emotionally and physically taxing – from the initial referral to the diagnosis and trying to find the right combination of medications and services, it can be an overwhelming process. So, Linsey is going to discuss the initial shock of “You think my child has what?” to her thoughts of “How am I going to cope and how am I going to explain this?” Linsey has found out that there is help every step of the way and she is going to tell us where to find it and how to ask for it.
This month, Linsey is hosted an important event for C.U.R.E. and we’ll be talked all about that and what all MAMAs can do to help find a cure for epilepsy. Watch video of the event here. Or, click to listen in to our Kitchen Table Talk. Thanks MAMAS!
