PROJECT MAKEOVER: Military Homes Get Re-Make

Our friends at Lifetime and the DESIGNING SPACES DREAM TEAM are honoring the men and women who serve our country with a new initiative – PROJECT MAKEOVER – to rebuild the homes and lives of our troops.  They are going to be visiting the homes of soldiers coming back for the first time and families who are doing the best they can while their loved ones are still serving abroad. The Designing Spaces Team also plans to visit the homes of families who have lost a loved one in battle and spouses who have become caregivers to their loved ones injured in war. The team will be on hand to help them remodel, retrofit and rebuild their homes and their hope for a stable future.  Sound like a great idea?  Well, wanna know the best part?  It can be YOU!

If you want to participate, or know a military family that might be interested, click here to enter! Please spread the word to all the Military MAMAs you know…the people that sacrifice so much for our safety and security deserve to enjoy all the comforts of home!

MOMism:  ”There is no place like home.”  Home – just saying it out loud conjures up emotions, but mostly it brings a sense of peace. It’s our safe place. Our kids and loved ones have been far far away for too long.  We want their home coming to be celebrated, but more importantly, we want them to feel like they are home – safe and secure surrounded by love.  Let’s give our troops a Home Sweet Home-coming, whether we rebuild their house or just make a banner for the front door.  It’s the big things and the little things that define the comforts of “home.”

My son Randy completed one (1) tour while my son-in-law Mark and his friend Derek have completed four (4) tours to the Middle East and "thankfully", all returned "physically intact". If the mission of this project is to "rebuild homes", then the "emphasis" should be on the rebulding of the homes of those who have "returned physically disabled". Now, that is a PROJECT. :-) )

    Papawswanz,
I am so happy to hear that both your son and son in law returned home safely. I am grateful for their duty.

Our goal at Designing Spaces is to rebuild their lives, by rebuilding their home if they do return physically disabled.

Please feel free to pass along this information to any other military family that you might know. Thank you.

Does it have to be a family of someone who is disabled? Or, any deserving military family?
