President Obama presented the Congressional Medal of Honor to Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta, He is the first living service member to receive the military’s highest honor in 40 years. Giunta was serving in Afghanistan three years ago and rescued two of his squad members from the battlefield. Obama called Giunta, “a soldier as humble as he is heroic.”
Seriously people, how proud and thankful are we that there are soldiers like this fighting for our country. Giunta’s MAMA raised a national hero and an honorable man…let’s teach our kids that “heroes are not born, they are made.” Sometimes it is through a random act of kindness and other times it is exceptional bravery and unyielding courage of men like Staff Sgt. Giunta. Our kids could use more examples of true heroism. In fact, Letterman will have Giunta on The Late Show at 11:35 EST November 14th. TIVO it and share with the KID-Os…or tell them his story. No wonder “we love a man in uniform”…they are the ones that rush in and save the day. Thank you MAMA Giunta for a job well done. We are all very proud of your boy.
Hope my boy turns out to be as brave!
Glad to see he got everyone out without injury…. you never hear about the ones that dont get out alive…. God Bless America! Go BLUE…
Thank you Staff Sgt. Giunta – you are a HERO among men. We are all very proud MAMAS. Thank you for your service to our country and your fellow soldiers. I saw you on Letterman and "I like you a lot," too! (-:
