MONEY TREE: Avatar Makes Cameron Hundreds of Millions

James Cameron reportedly earned $350 million from the release of Avatar.  This marks the largest personal financial gain, by any director from a single film, ever! This may seem like an absurd amount of money, until you weigh it against the $2.7 billion Fox Entertainment has grossed since its December 2009 release.  The studio is even planning a re-release later this summer for those who may have missed it the first time, and have included an additional eight minutes of footage. Cameron recently ranked third on Forbes celebrity 100 list. His fortune is expected to continue to grow, with more DVD and Blu-ray sales, as well as talk of an Avatar sequel.
